DIY Homebrew Nintendo Coasters

Here’s something I made recently as a housewarming gift for some friends. These coasters are made from Perler beads (they’re the plastic beads that go on a pegboard that you iron). You can find Perler beads in Walmart or any craft store. they’re inexpensive and usually come with a couple templates. these are made using a 14x14 square template. Just find a pixel sprite from you favorite game and arrange the beads on the template. Cover with waxed paper (usually included in the kit) and then iron them. Send pictures of your creations to thewiicast@mac.com and i’ll feature them on the site! Enjoy!

  1. These are awesome. I think I'm going to go out and make the characters from 8-Bit Theater now.

  2. I decided to make a few of my own =) (click my name for the journal post)
