CES: Adventure Quest and Dragon Fable for Wii... Sort of.

A small booth tucked away at CES revealed “Artix Entertainment, LLC” a small indie developer who, at the moment specializes in flash based browser games. The latest offerings “Adventure Quest” and “Dragon Fable” are playable in any browser that supports flash 7 or higher (theoretically Opera for Wii). The games are displayed in 800x600 (perfect for TV viewing) and are free to play. You can upgrade your membership for a one time fee of $19.99 for each game. The folks who ran the booth at CES were great, they were excited about their games and want the broadest audience possible playing them. Both games are very ambitious for browser based games and are great to play in short bursts. You can tell the creators are big fans of games like WoW and Everquest.

Watch out, because I’ll be giving away four upgraded memberships to readers of The Wiicast next week...or as soon as I think up a fun contest!

damn you people are pretty greedy. they said that they would be giving out 4 upgraded memberships next week(which is this week) but they also said something about a contest might be in the mix. do you all honestly think they're just gonna throw accounts to people saying "give me,give me, give me, here's my login name"? it takes more than the login name anyway, it takes a login name and password,which means that they have control to your account to do as they please. if you're too cheap to pay for guardianship or the dragon amulet, then stick with the free version of the game till you can afford to pay for the perks. you'll be safer in the long run

I am so happy that there will be so many memberships given out. Now I can finally at least have a chance to play this game instead of waiting hours on end at the login screen pressing every minute, hoping that the server opens.

I am an avid gamer and have beaten over 156 video games, 111 are 100% complete (I even have a list). Nintendo is my favorite company, followed by Sony, and then Microsoft (even though I don't own a system).

The reason that I can't upgrade the account with my own money is because my parents wont let me. They think that the game is too stupid and a waste of money. However, I love RPGs, because of the graphics and the sense of power. Instead, I have the rare chance of logging on, and I have got a level 68 account as a free member with all the hours it took. I get frustrated when there are items that I wish I could have gotten, but so many guardians and x guardians are on the game, so it makes it hard to get some special items events.

It has been especially hard because I lose my electronic privilages if I get 1 C+ (which I got last quarter). That means no Computer, Video Games, and TV untill the next report card comes out. I think it is fair to say that I am one of the more deserving people of the upgrade. I don't even care if it is just the guardian one. I don't need extra money/experience from X-guardianship, all I need is the ability to log on and get the various special items. Plus when I do log on, even when I turn my graphics on low, my old computer is so slow, so it is very hard to get any play time. On top of that, I'm only allowed 30 min. of CPU time a day. Most of that is spent trying to log on, if it is a lucky day. I believe I am more deserving as a level 68 free player let alone some of these level 20 Guardian players, who are only doing it for a few tokens and experience upgrade o.0

If I still have to participate in this contest, so be it, but I hope that what I have said is brought into consideration.

HOW HARD bet it took more time to tipe this that to actually do it.
